LONG STORY SHORT

Collegiate Empowerment has never felt like a job to me. For starters, I am married to the founder and I believed so much in the mission that I was the first investor in the early days over 25 years ago. Like we say at CE, we come for the gig, but we stay for the culture. Now, after 19+ title changes, I am the Community Coordinator focused on growing the team layers and keeping the heart.

THE REST OF THE STORY

I started working with Collegiate Empowerment as a Seminar Production Assistant when the company first began as EmPower X!. I was traveling around the country and hanging out in closets and behind the stage playing music was my first job. Throughout most of my career I’ve always been a full time elementary school teacher and part time CE employee, but now it's reversed and I couldn’t be happier. Being a part of CE is a very fulfilling part of my life because knowing college students are getting the “real” education outside the classroom that they need makes me feel so grateful & proud. These students are being educated in heavy topics (ie. mental health, financial ed., alcohol ed., and sexual assault). I’m proud and honored to be a part of a team and business that has talented and certified facilitators and coaches that are able to deliver in a way that impacts and makes education real & lasting.

Currently, I’m the Associate Director for our team who support our clients and I work with the best in the business. The Higher Education Professionals are awesome and make the job so rewarding because we are all pouring in and out of one another's lives. Learning and growing from one another in this community is a rarity and one I’m grateful for.

REAL GPA

As the CE Associate Director, I utilize my Real GPA of Relationship and Management by consulting with the Leadership Team and connecting our backstage team, our facilitators, our agency partners, and other CE professionals who help keep the organization running like a well-oiled machine.

OUTSIDE OF CE

Above all, I’m most proud that I’ve been married to my best friend for over 20 years, I’m a mom of an amazing teenage son, and I’m deeply devoted to my family relationships & friendships. I love being in nature and most activities that are outdoors, especially at the lake, beach, and woods. I love any opportunity to travel and take photos of my experiences and the people I adore. I try to live each day by Ghandi’s quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
